Sweet mangoes in big quantities

One afternoon we picked a great amount of mangoes in Deva's parents garden. A gorgeous garden with plenty of mangoes trees.  So much divine sweetness in this fruit. In Switzerland I buy one or two thinking how long it traveled across the world to reach the Swiss market. The fruits we picked were beautifully ripe and so rich in delicious juice.

A morning at the Barossa farmers' market

We went this morning to the local farmers' market to fetch some fresh produce for the evening picnic  (our last evening before my departure).  The market was small but lovely with lots of home made, organic products. It was not as impressive in choices as Spanish and French farmers' markets are, but still there was a lot on offer and much cheaper than in the supermarket. It is always a pleasure to stroll around the market and inhale the scents of fresh veggies, fruits, and soil mixed with sun.

sunshine breakfast

The breakfast plate filled with early morning sunshine at the camp. This is Moroccan harcha, pan-fried bread made from semolina flour, it's a bit like cornbread in texture and taste. They are quite rich in butter and milk. And taste just delicious when served hot from the griddle.

tapas barcelona

There is much said about this tapas bar on the net but I can only confirm that the food is the most simple, delicious and freshest, white wine from Galicia crispy, the atmosphere is brilliant and service quick and friendly. Ciudad Condal serves all these Spanish tapas that I adore and learned to appreciate while leaving in Valencia; solomillo (tender beef), pimientos de padron (deep-fried chili peppers), setas al ajiillo (fresh mushrooms sauteed with olive oil and garlic), esparrago (sauteed asparagus), calamares  (squid), patatas bravas (fried potatoes)... and their tapas list is long. One of these places that you return to whenever you are "back in town".

on Easter

Easter  in Poland like anywhere else hasn’t avoided the commercial aspect of another holiday and seeing one more chocolate chicken or rabbit makes me to run away. But there is still another  side of it; watching my mother cooking wonderful, traditional polish food, celebrating family and experiencing the waking up of natural world after a long, weary winter. I hoped for spring in gardens; I was welcomed by snow blizzard. But thankfully after a few days some patches of blooming flowers appeared and the sun came out.
