Thought I could show you how a typical ski touring ( ski de rando (FR) day looks like. It starts around 6 am when it is still dark outside and the whole world is still asleep. It is a moment of a winter night when leaving a warm, cosy bed (on a weekend) it an unimaginable thing to do. But a thought of snow covered mountains and big blue skies keeps me going.
On our way to the mountains we can usually watch from a car or train window the sun rising above the Lake Leman
The tour to the Dent de Valerette (Massif du Giffre, canton Valais) starts in Les Giettes village; from the parking lot in Les Giettes to the summit is around 950 m of ascent. It is a moderate and pleasant tour requiring conversions only at the beginning and the last 200 meters.

A glass of "panaché" never tastes better. On the way back Auberge Chindonne is the palce to stop for a drink and meal.
Skins drying technique; I guess a person who designed this lamp new about multi-functionality.
