There is more and more powder snow these days in the Swiss Alps and ski touring is better than ever. I am making best out of it and any free day there is I am heading to the summits. Cap au Moine was a ski tour we did the last weekend. It was my second time to ascent this summit and I would go there again without hesitation. The fun starts in Montreux where you need to take the GoldenPass train to the altitude village Allières (around 30 minutes ride up the mountain). If the snow conditions allow you can start the tour already from the train station; it is about 1,000 m ascent. The tour is not too difficult, and what I like about it is its diversity, there are some gentle parts but also a few steep slopes requiring conversions that will get your blood running. The views are spectacular from the very beginning.
