Approaching Lausanne
It does not happen often to be invited for a flight in a private Piper plane by a wonderful couple. And then the flight is an awe-inspiring two hours encounter with the mountains and surroundings I live in. I was touched to the bone by the views so vast, so high, so silent. And as we flew on this perfect, warm October day I reflected about my four-year long life in Switzerland. The beggining was not easy, moving here after ten years of living in a warm climate of California and Spain. It took me a long time to warm my heart about this country and it was the mountains who finally won me over. Spending more and more time at the higher altitude little by little turned my reservedness into an appreciation and recognition of what a treasure this place is. And seeing all these sights from a high perspective confirmed to me once more how aligned I feel here. And when I go away I start missing the mountains and so glad to see them again when I return. Thank you Denis and Anne for sharing this experience.
