Good morning Australia

On my my first ever morning in Australia I woke up to the sound of parrots and gentle breeze in eucalyptus trees. The sunshine is so, so bright, the nature so raw and captivating. I am in another world. Susi's and Sam's house is beautifully located among gum trees on a big land in Cackatoo Valley, a true Australian back-country. Barrossa Valley a renowned wine country is just a step away. There are colorful birds everywhere and kangaroos passing by. We are completely submerged in nature and SPACE. So much open space here, big deep blue skies, and a wild animal every five meters. I was asked to walk carefully not to step on a snake but I keep looking up at the trees...for the birds.

Hundreds of Cockatoo parrots live here and they are the reason of the name"Cockatoo Valley"
Susi's and Sam's house
On the way to the little town Gawler for a coffee and grocery shopping, driving on the left side of the road. Usually this land is very green but it is a middle of the summer and a heat wave is just passing by these days..
A town of Gawler with the population of 20,000. We went for some shopping in a store specialized in camping and it blew my mind the camping gear they have here. I love Australia already.

Beautiful sky color and more cockatto on branches

It is 3 pm and 48 degrees in shade. My body is slowly adjusting. We are leaving tomorrow to the ocean side where temperatures are much cooler.

Plenty of Lorikeet parrots just like a rainbow

Some neighbors keep llamas on their land. The llamas serve as protectors of sheep; if a fox approaches a sheep to hunt it, a llama lets out a cry and charges the predator.A fleecy llama looking so innocent is a serious shepherd.

We drove to a local bar for a couple of well chilled beers.

Met a few kangaroos

Full moon night today

This was a lovely and smooth Shiraz from the Barossa Valley and I hope to bring a couple of bottles to Switzerland. Nights here are so peaceful, there is only a sound of crickets and wind. Feels so great to reconnect with such good friends; feels like time has not passed by.
