From Bérard valley

Last Sunday we hiked through this dreamy green and lush valley of Bérard in the French Alps in the region of Haute Savoie, near the border with Switzerland. A true fairy land with a river and crystal streams running through the valley, snow capped summits shining in mid summer sun and blankets of alpine flowers covering the slopes. Always great to see other hikers of all ages from the very young ones (and cute ones, look at this handsome little boy) to much older ones, all seemingly in tune with nature,  and appreciating this magnificent landscape. Refuge de la Pierre à Bérard at the altitude of 1925m is a  place for a rest before heading to higher mountain passes and summits .
