Mont Tellier (2,951m)

                                                                          Happy Birthday my Friend.

                                                               Glad we could all share it in a special way.

                                          Another birthday on a summit; what a blessing for the year to come.

The route: Mont Tellier  (the mountain lays in the Pennine Alps) was quite an easy ascent. The tour starts at the bottom of the ski station (currently closed) Bourg-Saint-Bernard (1927m). As we climbed up, there were stunning views of the Grand Combin. Last 50 m we climbed with the ski attached to our backpacks. The summit spoiled us with what you can see above; I could have stayed there much, much longer. We ended the day around a fire on the lake beach with our beautiful Hungarian friends who prepared “goulash” (a typical Hungarian meat stew cooked slowly). Many happy childhood memories returned while sitting at the fire and holding the warm bowl of food in hands. How lucky that was to be welcomed by lovely friends with a warm, hearty meal after a day in the mountains. Feeling thankful.
