Milan Italy

There are many wonderful things in Switzerland but there is no secret that this beautiful country lacks “food & restaurant” scene (or at least my town). You might find a couple of reliable places to eat and you end up going there each time. Italy is just a couple of hours away and when I start missing the soulful, beautifully made food it is time to head to the south.

This time with a friend we have spent a weekend in Milan partially to attend an event, but most of the time we spent in cafés, bakeries and restaurants. It rained all weekend but we didn’t mind; sitting in cozy places and wrapped in cooking scents coming from the kitchen. As I am always on the hunt for the best bakery in town this time it was Princi that melted my heart. This bakery makes cakes, foccacias, pizzas and bread according to traditional recipes and using organic, stone-ground flours. Bread is baked at all hours of the day in the fire oven. We tried foccacias and pizzas and pastries and all was just heaven. So glad that Italy is just around the corner.
